Granny's 50th Birthday

We surprised my mom in Kemah for her 50th birthday. It was really rainy and cold at first but it turned out to be a great day. All of the grandkids had an awesome time. They got to enjoy all the rides several times, get their faces painted and play on the boardwalk playground. Happy Birthday Granny! We love you and can't wait to celebrate 50 more!

Papa and his boys going to ride the rides

4th Birthday & Easter

Warning: this is a SUPER long post....

Austin's 4th Birthday Party
His birthday was on Saturday, April 3rd. We didn't have much of a choice on which weekend to have the party due to work/lacrosse schedules so Easter weekend it had to be. Austin wanted a train themed party for his party at the house. I wanted everything to be homemade which was a completely crazy thing to do at almost 7 months pregnant! I wanted to get more pictures of Austin opening presents and the kids having fun but I was so busy. I have a few peeps I am relying on to send more pics to me so I will post them when I get them.

Easter
On Sunday, we somehow managed to get up in time for church. It was totally packed! I forgot that Easter is the only day out of the year that EVERYONE goes to church. Austin really enjoyed "bible class" that day. When we asked him what he learned, he said, "Jesus died. Some 'heoples' liked him and some 'heoples' didn't. The soldiers put nails in his hands and feet." It was a lot of detail for a 4 year old but I am glad he was paying attention!
I didn't have the energy this Easter to make up some story about how the Easter Bunny brought his basket and hid his eggs so we didn't even go there this year. His basket was from Mommy and Daddy and he began to learn the true meaning of Easter at church.

After church and egg coloring, we went to Tattie and Grandpa's. They heated their pool so the kids could swim.

Austin received a bug catching kit for his birthday (thanks Danielle). He was so excited to use it. Two lizards ended up in there throughout the day and some worms for food.

Austin going to release one of the lizards.

Austin did really good during the egg hunt. She scored a lot of money and hard-boiled eggs which I turned into deviled eggs and egg salad sandwiches. YUM-O

Austin and "his Donna" who he is totally obsessed with and loves so much. She helped him with the egg hunt.

School Party
Austin celebrated his birthday with his friends at school on Monday. He wanted a Spiderman theme for this one which was much easier to buy everything for. I thought is was interesting since he has never really watched Spiderman.

I gave them all Spiderman masks and they went crazy! They all started to "fight" each other which is why I don't let Austin watch it. I am sure the teachers hate me now. :)
