Garage Sale

We did a last minute garage sale last weekend. (thank you honey!) Austin was actually a huge help. He and I went through every room in the house and put everything aside that we wanted to sell. He helped me carry everything downstairs and then into the garage. He also provided great customer service! It was a little tricky trying to convince him that some of his toys were going to be sold. In the end, we kept reminding him that he would get a cut of the profit for his piggy bank.

I have a love-hate relationship with garage sales. I really don't mind having them or even setting up for them but I am such a softy when it comes to prices. If you want something for next to nothing, come to my next garage sale! BTW, I sold 19 pairs of my shoes!

New Juice!

So Austin loves juice and I probably give him more than I should but oh well. I used to give him the Roaring Water Capri Suns (half the sugar of regular Capri Suns - 9 grams). I have made the switch to Minute Maid Fruit Falls. They have LESS THAN 1 GRAM of SUGAR and only 5 calories. He does drink water but he needs a little flavor sometimes and I hate water so I guess I have ruined him. Anyhow, instead of a juice box, grab one of these. Minute Maid should be paying me...

Fun stuff

Austin has a huge bag of blocks that he plays with regularly. One night he asked me to look at the "horsies" that he made. I could not believe it. All I could think was, my kid is a genius!!! I know...I know...but I am his Mom and I am allowed to think that. He makes them all the time and is very particular about the blocks and colors that he uses. I am still not sure how he learned to do that.

Last night the horsies were pulling a wagon and two people were driving it. Pretty clever....

We took him to see his first movie at the theater. We saw Ice Age or as Austin calls it, "scrat". As the previews were playing it was really quiet and then you hear Austin say, "Mommy, where's the remote?" That was awesome. He liked the movie and it was a fun experience for him. I highly recommend movies around 11am on Sunday. We only paid $10 for all 3 of us!

So after Austin hears someone burp, we often hear him say, "cochino" and then he tells them to say excuse me. My Spanish is a little rusty so I looked it up and it means dirty or filthy. I am guessing that his teachers are saying it at school when a kid burps. Little do they know that my kid picked it up and remembers it. He even says it with the proper Spanish accent.

Discovery Green

Aunt Lendi and I took Jake and Austin to Discovery Green (my new favorite place) on the morning of the 4th. I totally love it there. The boys had a great time playing in the water. There is so much for them to do and see but we did not get to it all. If you decide to go out there, go early!

Nothing like eating popsicles in 100 degree heat on the 4th of July
