2010 Year in Pictures

2010 has been an awesome year for the Heflins.  There were several milestones accomplished (mostly for Austin).

Austin celebrated his 4th birthday.  In a few months he will be FIVE. {Sigh}

We celebrated Granny being 50 and fabulous!

Austin went on an airplane for the first time.

We spent our final hours as a family of three...

...and became a family of four.  Jackson Kendell graced us with his presence on June 14th.

Austin got his first bike and learned to ride it.

Aus and Jack went to the beach for the first time this summer.

The boys visited our friend Amber at the fire station.

Austin got to ride in a big rig at Grandpa's work.

Austin caught his first of many fish.

Austin took swimming lessons and is now floaty-free.

I drove both boys to Oklahoma to visit family and participate in the Race for the Cure in memory of Grandma Ables.

Austin received his second soccer trophy.  He improved a lot this season.

Mommy caught the "baking bug" while on maternity leave and has turned it into something amazing.  More to come in 2011!

Jackson has learned to crawl!

And finally, Daddy started his second season of coaching lacrosse.

2010 has been amazing!  Can't wait to see what is in store for us in 2011!

Christmas Wrap Up

Our Christmas was wonderful but went by WAY too fast!

Austin is a big believer in Santa, which is awesome but it is getting hard to keep up what I have told him about the North Pole and such.  He is too smart for this to go on much longer so I will soak it up while it lasts.  We started out on Christmas Eve morning with cookies for Santa.  I gave Austin complete control over this process which as really hard.  {I am learning that I am kind of a control freak.}

Okay, I did help him ice a few.

The finished products were might tasty!

Then it was off to Aunt Debbie's for kids activities.  Every year, my cousin Dodie plans activities for the kids on Christmas Eve.  Austin always looks forward to this.  This year, we made cookies, reindeer food, ate cake and sang happy birthday to Jesus.

The kids are making a cookies for Santa.

Austin is becoming a pro.

Here they are making reindeer food.  This is such a fun idea.  They mix together oatmeal, sugar and glitter.  Thanks Aunt Debbie and Dodie for having us over and for always thinking of the kiddos!

From there, we went back to the house to gather up all of our stuff (in the pouring rain!) and headed to Grandpa's and Tatties for the night.

Speaking of Santa...here is my munchkin in the Santa suit that Tattie got for him.

It didn't take long to get the boys in their snowman pjs.

Austin went outside in the freezing cold to sprinkle his reindeer food in the grass.

A toast by Grandpa with his homemade Irish Creme.  YUM!

A virgin shot for Aus.  :)

...Wishing you a VERY cozy Christmas!
Love, Waylon, Erin, Austin & Jackson

And here is a bonus pic of my little monster.  No photoshop needed; his eyes really are that blue!

Thank you to my hubby for agreeing to change into his Christmas pj's and sit on a couch in the middle of a field while it was cold outside.  And a huge thank you to Tracy of doe-ee-bird photography. She is a creative genius, an amazing mother and good friend.

Rockin' Around the Disco Ball

My niece, Donna Dean and Austin created this. I think this is the funniest thing I have ever seen.  Ever.

Baby It's Cold Outside

We went to the light car parade on Market Street over the weekend and it was cold!!!  Well, cold for our neck of the woods.  Anything below 50 degrees is too cold for me.

How freaking cute are these kiddos waiting to see the parade of cars all lit up (which ended up only being about 20)?

Austin was super excited.  The cold weather doesn't ever phase him.

Jack hung in there too.  This was his first venture out into the cold weather.

Jack and Drew waiting patiently.

The Monteleones - Thanks for inviting us out guys!!

Although is was a short parade, it was well worth it to get us out and in the Holiday spirit!  Maybe I'll try to continue my seasonal blog posts with Christmas song titles.  Too bad we can't listen to Christmas music ALL year long!  I think Waylon would if he could.  Shhh! ;)
